It’s always tea time at the Cortile, an enchanting sun-light courtyard featuring a soaring glass ceiling and tiered sandstone arcades. This secret haven of sweet delights is hidden in the InterContinental Hotel Sydney, a magical setting perfect for the sweet-tooth’s ultimate indulgence. While away the hours in the charming surrounds, which is particularly magnificent when the sun shines through the glass skylight and lights up the arena. The InterContinental Hotel encompasses the 1851 Treasury Building, a National Trust landmark made of magnificent sandstone just a short distance from the Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay.
The Cortile serves up dainty delicacies each weekday afternoon, but the weekend High Teas are not to be missed. Enjoy sparkling wine, coffee and juice, plus a full buffet of cakes, pastries, cheese and savouries. Have the chef whip up some fresh crepes and pancakes to order at the live cooking station. The Cortile also offers a snack menu and all-day light meals such as sandwiches and savouries, or simply pop in for a cocktail or coffee. Afternoon tea at the Cortile is the perfect icing on the cake after a day of visiting the Art Gallery of New South Wales and Royal Botanic Gardens, located just a brief stroll from the hotel.

As the heart and focal point of Intercontinental Sydney, Cortile is a rich luxurious lounge featuring an intimate blend of rich colours and textures with oversized lamps suspended from the soaring glass. At night the three tiers of sandstone arcades are illuminated bringing together the timeless and contemporary elements of the hotel.
Perfect for casual business meetings over an espresso or selection of fine teas. Soak up the intimate atmosphere and enjoy live music Thursday 5.30-7.30pm and Friday-Saturday 8.30-11.30pm.
The Cortile is also a popular spot for light refreshments, all-day meals, afternoon tea and evening cocktails. A favourite Sydney treat is the traditional High Tea, an exquisite afternoon buffet served in The Cortile on Saturday and Sunday from 2.30pm.
AFTERNOON TEA
This traditional tea service is presented on an elegant 3 tier stand with served with fresh cream and homemade jams, a selection of pastries, slices and savoury items, espresso coffee, loose leaf tea and a glass of sparkling wine. Tea Stand - $35 per person. Monday to Friday 2.30-5.30 pm.
WEEKEND HIGH TEA
Buffet selection of tea sandwiches, raisin and vanilla scones served with fresh cream and homemade jam, Creperie Station, espresso coffee or an exotic choice of 12 different loose team, a glass of sparkling wine. High Tea $45 per person with a glass of sparkling wine, $55 per person with Champagne.
Two seatings every Saturday and Sunday. Reservations available between 1.00-2.30pm and 3.00-4.30pm

The Cortile, the hotel's popular meeting place, offers delicious gourmet fare. An expanded menu for your selection and convenience is available for delivery.
